HistoryAfter completion of a two-year mechanic’s course at Alexandria Technical College, graduation in 1970 was followed by three years of employment in area repair shops. In 1973, the business, S & M Repair, was started in Starbuck, Minnesota. Scott and his brother Mark formed the business together. In 1976, the shop was built in the current location and the business was moved from Starbuck. At this time, Mark decided that carpentry was a better occupation for him. Martin Estenson, Scott’s father, was an important part of the business. After Martin passed away in 2002, the name of the business was changed to Scott’s Shop. Over the thirty-four years of business, many updates and changes have been made to keep current with ever-changing automotive technology. Courses have been taken in the new technology. The shop is set up for a full line of automotive repair with the latest diagnostic equipment. In 1988, the business was expanded to include the sale of quality used cars and pickups. Scott’s Shop offers personal service to assist in providing the right used cars at the right price. |
